Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants should meet the following criteria:
* Educational Background: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any major; preference will be given to candidates with a degree from a recognized maritime academy.
* Professional Experience: Open to fresh graduates or those with up to two years of relevant experience in the shipping industry.
* Language Proficiency: Exceptional command of spoken and written English.
* Technical Competencies: A solid grasp of shipping regulations, customs procedures, export/import documentation, and agency management.
* Digital Literacy: Proficiency in computer applications necessary for daily operational reporting and communication.
Core Responsibilities
The Operation Staff (Shipping Agency) will play an essential role in managing vessel logistics and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include:
1. Operational Planning: Coordinating vessel calls according to precise schedules and operational mandates.
2. End-to-End Monitoring: Overseeing vessel movements from the pre-arrival stage through to departure.
3. Communication Management: Serving as the primary point of contact for principals, general agents, and customers regarding ETAs and operational instructions.
4. Documentation & Compliance: Preparing and submitting mandatory pre-arrival documentation and managing vessel in-clearance with CIQP, port authorities, and independent surveyors.
5. Logistics Coordination: Scheduling pilots, tugboats, mooring gangs, and other essential port services.
6. Activity Supervision: Monitoring cargo loading and discharging operations to ensure efficiency and safety.
